State Farm® Insurance Agent Sean Cheng

"I'm not sure why there are so many raving reviews of this agent. I had a very bad experience with them. Our original person at the agent left and our account was taken over by another person. The person never once called us to introduce herself or offered us any help. Until one day I had a flat tire and called for roadside assistance directly from State Farm. Since we have roadside assistance coverage, they usually sent the tow truck free of charge as long as the destination is within certain miles. However, the online system was down that day and I had to pay for the service first which would then be reimbursed later according to the representative at that time. I called Sean Cheng's Office right after and explained the whole situation. The person had no idea what I was talking about and didn't try to help me at all. I was then quite upset and told her I would apply for reimbursement myself. After waiting for a couple weeks to see if anyone would reach out to me again but heard nothing, I called State Farm directly and obtained a receipt for the reimbursement. State Farm said they couldn't process the reimbursement directly and I needed to go through my agent. So I had to call Sean Cheng's office again to get reimbursed. The person picked up the phone this time seemed to know what's going on. I then told her about my earlier experience calling them and she insisted that she had worked as an agent for 20 years and of course knew how to apply for reimbursement. Another person called later to ask for the receipt. Neither of them sounded very courteous, not to mention apologetic. I got my reimbursement pretty quickly but I was already a little bummed by the experience. We have been with the agent for at least 15 years. Our original person left and never once had they reached out to see if we have any needs or questions after that. We made a few claims directly with State Farm and didn't hear once from them about the claims. I'm not sure what we need the agent for and why we need to continue to pay for their services. It's probably time to find another agent. But the funny thing is once this agent heard that we were looking for another agent, they immediately called and asked us to give them another chance. The new agent said since they know this agent, they couldn't take over our account. It's all very frustrating. Most of all is that we are paying them fees for nothing. Just why we want to give them another chance??"
